Admin Logo Customizer

Replace the default WordPress logo in the admin bar with your own custom logo. Create a professional, white-labeled admin experience for clients or reinforce your brand identity.

Use Cases

  • White-label client websites by replacing WordPress branding with the client’s company logo
  • Display your agency’s logo in client admin areas to maintain brand presence
  • Create a cohesive, professional look across your WordPress admin interface
  • Brand multisite networks with different logos for each sub-site

How It Works

  1. Enable the module in Switchboard
  2. Click “Select Logo” to upload or choose an image from your media library
  3. The logo replaces the WordPress icon in the top-left corner of the admin bar
  4. The change is immediate — refresh any admin page to see your logo

For best results, your logo should:

SpecificationRecommendation
Size20x20 pixels (displayed size)
FormatPNG with transparency, or SVG
File sizeUnder 10KB for fast loading
ShapeSquare or circular works best
BackgroundTransparent recommended

The logo displays at 20x20 pixels in the admin bar. Upload a larger image (40x40 or 60x60) for crisp display on retina screens.

Design Tips

What Works Well

  • Simple icons — Detailed logos become unreadable at small sizes
  • High contrast — The admin bar is dark (#23282d), so light logos show best
  • Monochrome — Single-color logos maintain clarity
  • Square aspect ratio — Rectangular logos will be cropped

FAQ

Does this affect the frontend? No, this only changes the admin area. Your frontend website is completely unaffected. The custom logo only appears in the WordPress admin bar for logged-in users.
Can I use different logos for different user roles? The module applies the same logo for all users. For role-based customization, you would need custom code.
Why does my logo look blurry?Upload a larger image (at least 40x40 pixels) to account for retina/high-DPI displays. The logo is displayed at 20x20 pixels, so a 2x size ensures crisp display.
Can I use an SVG logo?Yes, if you have the SVG Support module enabled. SVG logos scale perfectly and look crisp on all displays.

Use your site’s favicon if you don’t have a dedicated icon. It’s already sized appropriately and maintains brand consistency between the browser tab and admin bar.

This module only replaces the visual logo. The WordPress menu items that appear when hovering over the logo area remain unchanged.
