Move Switchboard to Tools

Reduce admin menu clutter by moving Switchboard under the WordPress Tools menu. Instead of a separate top-level menu item, access Switchboard through Tools → Switchboard Pro.

How It Works

This module has no configuration options. Simply enable it to move Switchboard under Tools.

Accessing Switchboard

After enabling this module, access Switchboard via:

  • Menu: Tools → Switchboard Pro
  • Direct URL: /wp-admin/tools.php?page=switchboard

Quick Access Menu

When Switchboard is moved under Tools, a “Quick Access” dropdown button appears in the Switchboard header. This provides fast navigation to Switchboard sub-pages (like Lean Analytics or other extensions).

Verification

After enabling this module:

  1. Look for Switchboard in the top-level menu—it should be gone
  2. Navigate to Tools in the sidebar
  3. Click Switchboard Pro under Tools
  4. Verify all Switchboard features work normally

FAQ

Will I lose any functionality?No. All Switchboard features, modules, and settings remain fully functional. Only the menu location changes.
Can I still access Switchboard via direct URL?Yes. Bookmarks and direct links to /wp-admin/admin.php?page=switchboard continue to work.
What about Switchboard sub-pages?Sub-pages (like Lean Analytics) remain accessible via direct URL. The “Quick Access” dropdown in the Switchboard header provides links to all sub-pages.
Can I move Switchboard somewhere else?This module only moves Switchboard to Tools. For other locations, you’d need custom code.
Will this affect other users?Yes, the menu change applies to all admin users who can access Switchboard.
