Please check these common solutions first:
Update to the latest version - Many bugs are fixed in updates. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins and check if an update is available.
Check the Troubleshooting guide - Your issue might have a known solution.
Test with other plugins disabled - Plugin conflicts are common. Try disabling other plugins temporarily to isolate the issue.
Switch to a default theme - Theme conflicts can cause unexpected behavior. Test with Twenty Twenty-Four or another default WordPress theme.
Information to Include
When reporting a bug, please include:
- Switchboard Pro version (found in Plugins page)
- WordPress version (found in Dashboard > Updates)
- PHP version (found in Tools > Site Health > Info > Server)
- Theme name and version
- Steps to reproduce the issue
- Expected behavior vs actual behavior
- Screenshots or screen recordings (if applicable)
- Browser console errors (if it’s a JavaScript issue)
Example Bug Report
Module: Reading Time
Issue: Shows NaN on posts with only images
Environment:
- Switchboard Pro: 2.1.0
- WordPress: 6.4.2
- PHP: 8.2
- Theme: flavor Theme 1.0.3
Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable Reading Time module
2. Create a new post with only images (no text)
3. View the post on the frontend
Expected: Reading time should show "0 min" or not display
Actual: Shows "NaN min read"Response Time
